9 First Date Lies That Singles Tell

The reason people lie on dates is obvious: they want this attractive stranger to like them and spent more time with them. This helps to put the person in a much better light than they otherwise would be seen it: or so people think. Dr Fisher states:

Those who tell white lies are no more likely to get a second date; no more likely to have gone on a date in the last year; and no more likely to have had sex.

According to other surveys from Match.com, many don’t even bother with the telling of white lies when they don’t others (57%). And there are many more who believe that puling the wool over someone’s eyes is totally unacceptable.However, there is a percent of 43% who do indeed think that lying is acceptable.

24% of women and men are likely to have lied when it comes to the number of sexual partners they’ve had in the past. Interestingly, women tend to decrease their number. On the flipside, men will naturally exaggerate this number. Here are also a few other common lies that are told:

There are a lot of people who will understand why singles would lie about these on dating sites and in the real world, so it can be a bit difficult to blame them. Some do seem a bit more risqué, though, especially when it comes to having children.
